On April 9, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Martin Gibert, Professor of Philosophy at Cégep Ahuntsic and co-research associate at the CRÉ, will give a lecture titled “AI : tu ne tueras point.” The event will take place in the Amphitheater of the Sherbrooke Pavilion at UQÀM, located at 200 Sherbrooke Street West, in Montreal, Quebec.

Summary of the lecture:

Is AI that serves the common good possible? From autonomous weapons to medical applications, the potential benefits of artificial intelligence are enormous, but so are the potential risks: misinformation, threats to democracy, and control over humanity. What should we make of the risks increasingly discussed by the scientific community, starting with Yoshua Bengio and the Law Zero project? What moral principles should guide the programming of these algorithms that are transforming our daily lives?
