Biography

Mélanie Guillemette is a doctoral student in political philosophy at Laval University under the supervision of Patrick Turmel (Laval University) and Juliette Roussin (Laval University). Her work focuses on the link between democracy and free time. She holds a bachelor’s degree in social communication and a master’s degree in political philosophy, and has worked at the Quebec National Assembly and as a communications advisor for public organizations. Her master’s thesis, “Slowing Down as an Ecofeminist Requirement,” is listed on the Honor Roll of the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies at Laval University. Deeply involved in several social causes, she advocates for more equal access to public services and for policies that reduce inequalities.
